March 2026: For Immediate Release From Pro8mm
Bruno Mars’ new album, The Romantic, released February 27, 2026, is already creating major buzz across the music industry. His new song "Risk It All" is a #1 chart hit this week with over 23 million video views. The project marks Bruno Mars' first solo studio album in nearly 10 years!
The "Risk It All" music video was directed by Bruno Mars and Daniel Ramos, and shot by cinematographers Todd Banhazl, ASC, and Justin Cameron, SOC. Pro8mm has previously collaborated with this talented duo on the HBO series Winning Time (2022), which utilized more than 1,200 rolls of Super 8 film.

Todd Banhazl states: "We got to rejoin our Pro8mm family for this beautiful project. The vibrant Ektachrome and textural Tri-X 8mm in particular were perfect counterpoints to the gentle, smooth digital footage. And nobody rocks that little camera on planet earth better than Justin Cameron."
The camera chosen for the shoot was the Pro8mm Class Pro Max 8 camera with the traditional 6-66mm Schneider Lens. The scanning specs were 2K log files scanned overscan to Prores 4444 HQ.

Justin Cameron adds, “ We really loved the 1:33 overscan aspect ratio, especially with the Ektachrome. It felt like the color were so elegant and stunning. Still, including a piece of the perf in the overscan felt important to feel that 8mm full gate vibe we’ve grown to love. We did all our exterior work on Ektachrome Super 8-94 100D and littered in a roll or three of Tri-X. The trickiest part is when you only have 20 rolls, and only a few rolls of Super 8-66 Tri-X to work with, where and how does it fit into the overall piece? Thinking about the texture of it and the tonality against the main look, and how it can support not distract. We had so much fun exploring this in prep and on the day. All interiors and night work were shot on Pro8-500T. Thank you once more for this wonderful opportunity and for all of the support."
With over 90 Million views, last months album teaser video I Just Might, also included a cameo appearance of our Pro814 Super 8 Camera, music video, DP Todd Banhazl, ASC. A perfect prop as the video has such a retro vibe!
